I was terribly saddened today when I learned that Rue McClanahan had passed away. I've had such a long history of watching the Golden Girls since my college years (and still do to this day), and I admire all four of the actresses on that show. The show was phenomenal, and you couldn't help but fall in love with each actress and how she portrayed her particular character. I have a special fondness of Rue (aka Blanche) because my college roommate used to compare me to her...I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. But today, I will be honored.
So in honor of a fallen Golden Girl, I think I'll have a piece of cheesecake.

Blanche Devereaux quotes from the Golden Girls:
"You know how fragile men's egos are...do the smallest thing such as scream out the wrong name, and the go to pieces."
"I am nothing but a cheap, tawdry slut!"
"I swear to God as my witness, I will never pick up another man!...in a library...on a Saturday...unless he's cut...and drives a nice car...Amen."
